The Power of Poise

You ain’t gonna get to the top unless you’ve got a little poise. -Bobby Bowden

Bobby Bowden is my favorite college football coach of all time.  I find these words that he spoke to be very true and important to put to work.  The way that you present your self will determine your future.  If you always present yourself with your head down all the time, your hand wobbles when you shake someones hand and can’t look someone in the eye when talking to them, you’ll realize that people won’t put you in roles to manage others or even put in higher positions. This shows a insecurity about yourself that people see.

Body language tells a lot about who you are.  It is important to always carry yourself as someone who cares and has respect for oneself.  If you care for yourself then you will be able to care for other things.  Though you may believe you can still manage other roles, those who oversee you see this as a disability to the team.
